Cosmic Awakening

I was feeling bored so I started looking for things to do as you do!!! Then, I stumbled on gurl.com and decided to do some personality quizzes and I discovered the colour of my aura. Well, so it says and it claims that i have a Violet aura.....one thing is for sure I can't dismiss the results, as I do possess a lot of the qualities associated with this aura. Anways, time for a little digression because I don't know if you do this BUT sometimes I can meet people and instantly dislike them. Well, before I might have ingnored this initial dislike to someone and thought don't be silly give them a chance and low and behold I always regretted going against my initial instinct. So, now i don't fight that initial reaction BUT i still find it weird that i can feel uncomfortable around certain people that others are able to be around and smile and laugh and seem to be having the greatest of times. BUT in my little world this person is disgusting and foul and i don't want them in my presence and when they talk to me it makes me cringe inwardly. Maybe it's just me but this actually happens thankfully not too often......

gURL.comI took the "The Aura Color Personality" quiz on gURL.com
My aura is...
violet

In the world of auras, violet is the color of visionaries. Violets are inspired individuals who are filled with enormous amounts of compassion for the human race. They are usually committed to great causes--think environmental or peace activism--that they think will save the world. Read more...

War II - Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen

Bent double, like old beggars under sacks,
Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge,
Till on the haunting flares
we turned our backs
And towards our distant rest
began to trudge.
Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots
But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind;
Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots
Of tired, outstripped
Five-Nines that dropped behind.

Gas! Gas! Quick, boys! – An ecstasy of fumbling,
Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time;
But someone still was yelling out and stumbling,
And flound'ring like a man in fire or lime . . .
Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light,
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.
In all my dreams, before my helpless sight,
He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning.

If in some smothering dreams you too could pace
Behind the wagon that we flung him in,
And watch the white eyes writhing in his face,
His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin;
If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood
Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,
Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud
Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie; Dulce et Decorum est
Pro patria mori.

WAR

I decided to read another book but I've been reading this one for over a week now. Funny thing......text size is important the last book i read had double spacing and in comparison this new book is like twice as long and the words are all squished up together. So...even though the story is interesting something as simple as line spacing makes me hesitate to read it!!!!

Anyways, it's called The Wind Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami and I'm enjoying reading this book. I might do a separate post about the once ordinary life of Toru Okada that becomes somewhat extraordinary as the story progresses. The book has sparked something inside of me and now I'm left thinking about WAR.

I know here in England people volunteer to fight for their country but in some other countries people aren't allowed to object to military service. This book briefly mentioned war and how Japanese men were expected to fight for their country due to conscription (compulsory military service). This is where my mind kind of drifted in thought and i was wondering how would that feel to suddenly have to KILL for your country. There are some things that I'd never volunteer to do ....joining the military is one of these things as even though it's for your country....you are taking human life. This is something I hope and wish I'll never have to do....so then how must it feel like to be denied this choice.

I was imagining what it would've been like to be doing your normal mundane job, living with your wife and children and then suddenly being told that you must leave that life behind and go to war. A person who was once a candle maker would now be expected to take life and fight on the battlefield and witness horrendous bloodshed. It is no wonder a lot of war veterans experience some sort of psychological trauma. I don't think it's possible for the person you were before you went to war to return. I wonder if the moment you had to leave your family that you kind of become a different person. What would you have to do to prepare yourself for war....is such a thing possible, as you can see it made me wonder about a number of things. But overall I think if you do have the choice why would you choose to join the military. If anyone reads this that has joined the military I would really appreciate it if you could shed some light on why you decided to do so.

Stuck in ReV3Rse

I decided to read the short story of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and I thought what a great idea. Too write a story about being stuck in reverse being born old and dying young.....i thought sheer GENIUS!!!! Obviously it's a work of fiction but I wasn't familiar with the title until I saw the trailers for the movie starring Brad Pitt. Anyways, once I saw the trailer I decided to read the short story and it's absolutely great. So, now I'm hoping that the movie will be just as amazing....i mean it couldn't be nominated for all these awards if it was completely rubbish. I reckon it should transform well into film as it's a short story as opposed to a novel which never fully translates to the big screen (in my personal opinion).

Hollywood Sucks!!!!!

I must admit I usually love going to the cinema but recently I'm not thrilled about the idea of parting with my cash to watch the RUBBISH there screening!!!! It's sad to say but I think the quality of movies has deteriorated to the point that we are putting mediocrity on a pedestal---least to say I'm far from amused. Everything is going downhill in my opinion...the titles are just as unimpressive as the movies and with the impending Oscars I dread to think what's been nominated!!!!!

What has happened too Hollywood? Has a world of plastic and fake everything put a mental block on creativity....I fear the thought!!!!! Almost all the films nominated for Oscars have been released pretty close to the ceremony ---cynicism is kicking in HERE---coincidence you might say!!!??!! The Box Office just isn't cutting the grade and it's infuriatingly annoying and it's driving me into despair *EXAGGERATION IN PROGRESS* I mean I have watched the endless movie trailers that come on the TV regularly and again I'm yet to see one that I'm dying too watch!!!!!

So, here is the THING!!! I intend to watch most of the Oscar nominated movies in the next fortnight and I hope I see something AMAZING ---just spectacular---Entertain Me Hollywood^.^

Memory Eraser in Progress

I've never given too much attention to Alzheimer's before---it's something you don't really pay mind to when you're young. Too be frank you rarely pay attention to things that don't concern you or don't affect you in some way or another. To me...Alzheimer's was something I watched on E.R. or some other hospital related drama or a brief news bulletin.

But now it's managed to raise it's ugly head into my life and boy oh boy is it UGLY. I mean you manage to survive on this planet for over 70 years and given the present climate with young people being stabbed or shot aged 12, 13, 15 (you get my drift)...living over 70 is an achievement that you're lucky to accomplish. For what to happen for all your precious treasured memories - the good, bad and the ugly to be erased. The video of your life is being erased while you still breath oxygen into your lungs.

Damn, I really HATE this disease!!!!! Soon, I'll be forgotten and I don't mind as I've still got my own memories to cherish BUT it's just a horrid DISEASE :( As, the mind deteriorates I wonder what is going on in the victims head. Are they suffering? Do you know something is happening as this DISEASE feasts on your mind. I dread to think what they know when this is happening!!!!!
